Shawl Fringe
Our shawl fringe comes on approx. 3/4 lbs spool which is enough to fringe one adult shawl. For detailed patterns or extra high density
fringe, more may be required. No dye lots, order all you need at the same time for same colors.
Price: $18.00 per spool.
For those who order in quantity, the following discounts apply. Order three or more rolls in the same order, your price is $16.00 per roll. Order five or more in one order, your price is $15.00 a roll. Order ten or more in one order, your price is $14.00 per roll. Mix and match short and tall rolls, mix and match colors. Wholesale is available to those with a state resale certificate and a city business license. Minimum 10 rolls per order for wholesale, call for price.
Further, you should be aware that we've been discovered by crafters from around the world and not all
colors are in stock at all times. We have most colors in stock, usually 3 or 4 rolls of each. If you need
more than three rolls of a color, allow up to four weeks for your shipment.
Certain colors are constantly backordered
Most popular colors are in stock at all times, however, purples and yellows tend to go very quickly. Be
prepared for these colors to be out of stock and shipped up to four weeks after your order is received.
Frequently asked questions:
What length is the fringe?
Our fringe is one long, mostly continuous strand of fringe - not unlike a string or
yarn. This type of fringe is sometimes called a chainette fringe. If
you're looking for a fringe that is sewn onto a strip of fabric and is ready
to sew onto your project, we unfortunately don't carry it. We only carry
chainette.
Do you sell pre-cut fringe?
While we would love to sell pre-cut fringe, we don't have it regularly in
stock. We can custom cut it for you, if you'd like, but we charge an hourly
rate of $30.00 (we do it the old-fashioned way, by hand) while cutting your
fringe, plus the cost of your roll of fringe.
However, it's simple to cut your fringe to the length you need. To give you
an easy example, if you want your fringe to be 16 inches long, you find a
piece of cardboard that's 16 inches across. Wrap it with fringe, taking
care not to overlap the fringe or stretch it. Cut across one end, and
you'll have 32 inch long pieces of fringe. When you put it on your shawl,
it will hang from the very center of the piece, making your fringe exactly
16 inches long when the shawl's finished.
How many yards of fringe are on a roll?
We sell the rolls of fringe by weight, and have never unspooled the fringe
to measure yardage. There's enough on each spool to do one adult dance
shawl, and have some left over. This comes out to hundreds of yards, but we
don't know exactly how many yards - sorry! Well, also not to mention that
the spoolers have got to be chatting on the phone with their friends, for I
don't think we've /ever/ gotten the exact 12 oz we expect on a roll.
Sometimes less, most times more. Much more. Sometimes these rolls
weigh over a pound. You get a bonus.
Do you have partial rolls of fringe? I only need half a roll of color XX...
Sometimes, we have partial rolls available. Well, more accurately, very
rarely. Until we get the time to spin our own rolls, we will not be offering
partial rolls online. Work with friends if you only need a small part of a
roll - perhaps they have the color sitting around, or they have a shawl they
want to work on.
| Orders of shawl fringe are shipped either via US Parcel Post or US Priority Mail to United States and Canadian addresses.
Due to the weight of the fringe, you will be told if there is any additional shipping charges.
Orders shipped Priority Mail usually arrive anywhere in the United States and Canada in three days or less.
At this time, we do not ship via UPS. Why? Multiple reasons.
Most of our shipments are to residences. You miss the UPS man, you
generally have to go through hoops to get your package. Surprise fees --
Residential rates are different than business rates, and surcharges appear all
the time for no explainable reason. |
