Hides & Furs

Commerical Buckskin

We carry full deer hides, graded according to quality, in a variety of sizes. Our grading basis is based on the rough side of the commercial hide, not the dermal side.

An example: On a white hide with no holes around the center portion, some discolloration on the dermal side (the shiny side) and overall great quality of rough, we would grade this as a #1.

The reason why is that most of our customers use our hides for beading. In most cases, you bead on the rough side, the smooth side is turned inward on the piece.

Present example prices: $6.50 per square foot of the entire hide for #1, $5.50 per square foot of the entire hide for #2. We do not cut hides - we only sell full ones.

Colors available: White, Cream, Gold, Turquoise, Saddle Tan & Black.

Mixed scrap pieces - 1 lbs bag - grade REALLY varries, majority deerskin. $10.00 a pound grab bag. Colors varry - usually Gold.

Commercial Elk

Full hides, garmet weight [29 to 35+ square feet] $6.50 per square feet of entire hide. Sometimes grade #2 are available - pretty rare.
