Jackalope
Jackalope is the creation of Nakai and keyboardist Larry Yanez.
Jackalope's music straddles the ancient and modern, blending ethnic
melodies, rhythms and instruments with modern technologies and urban
musical styles. Like its namesake, Jackalope's music is a hybrid and can
only be described as SynthacousicpunkarachiNavajazz.
Boat People
A musical satire that takes a pointed look at the five hundred years since
Columbus stumbled onto America. Nakai & Yanez combine flutes, keyboards,
trumpets, guitar, power tools and anything else lying around to tell
their musical stories in ten sardonic songs. 38 minutes
Cassette - $10.00 CD - $16.95 |
Dances with Rabbits
Inspired by the mating dances of the jackalope, this album of eleven songs
is Jackalope's first dance album. Nakai (on Native American flute and
trumpet) and Yanez (on keyboards and guitar) are joined by J. David
Munuz (guitar and bass) and Will Climpan (percussion). Boogie to the beat!

harmonies and rhythms to create a hynotic sound.

Weavings

the Aztecs and modern urban culture. Nakai on Native American flute and
trumpet is joined by Yanez on synthesizer with percussion and guitar. An
entertaining melange of musical traditions and styles.
